Hilarious Surveillance Footage Captures Shopkeeper’s Chaotic Battle With Rogue Kittens

A small grocery store in Bangkok has become an internet sensation after security cameras captured the owner’s comical struggle to wrangle a group of mischievous kittens. The three-minute video, which has been viewed over 20 million times, shows 62-year-old Somchai Rattanaporn engaged in what can only be described as a losing battle with feline physics.

It all began when the shopkeeper noticed four kittens playing near the store’s snack aisle. “I just wanted to move them to their cage so they wouldn’t knock over merchandise,” Rattanaporn explained. What followed was a slapstick sequence worthy of a silent film comedy.

The footage shows the kittens darting in every direction as Rattanaporn tries to corral them. At one point, he successfully gathers three kittens in his arms, only for the fourth to climb up his back. When he turns to grab that one, the original three escape. The scene repeats with variations for several minutes, complete with sliding on spilled rice and a dramatic leap over the counter.

“I’ve run this shop for 30 years,” Rattanaporn laughed. “But nothing prepared me for kitten herding.” The video’s popularity has brought unexpected benefits – customers now visit specifically to see the famous kittens, and sales have increased by 40%. The shopkeeper has even installed a “kitten corner” with toys and climbing structures.

Animal behaviorist Dr. Niran Chomchuen notes that the video perfectly illustrates feline intelligence. “The kittens weren’t being naughty – they were engaging in social play and practicing their hunting skills. They probably thought the whole thing was a wonderful game.”
