Princesse Margot: Bringing Smiles to Children with Cancer!

Founded in 2012 by Muriel Hattab, the Princesse Margot association is committed to providing comfort and hope to children and adolescents battling cancer, as well as their families. Faced with the harsh reality of over 2,500 new cases of pediatric cancer each year, Princesse Margot makes remarkable efforts to brighten the daily lives of these young patients.

Having supported over 9,500 children since its inception, the association offers a range of activities aimed at creating moments of happiness and distraction. “The goal [of Princesse Margot] is for children to experience enchanted moments, bubbles of escape, moments where they forget, for a moment, the illness, the place where they are,” shares Muriel Hattab, the founder.

Princesse Margot works closely with hospital partners to organize over 600 activities each year. These include fulfilling children’s dreams, fun activities, and most importantly, precious family moments. Aware of the stress and exhaustion that illness brings to parents, the association recently inaugurated Marg’Home, a welcoming residence providing indispensable support to struggling families.

In its quest to improve the well-being of young patients, Princesse Margot launched the “Repas Toqué” culinary program in 2018. In partnership with Michelin-starred chef Irwin Durand, the association transforms hospitals into gourmet restaurants, offering children tasty dishes and unique culinary experiences. Each meal becomes a gustatory adventure, allowing children to rediscover the pleasure of eating and escape from hospital routine.

Furthermore, Princesse Margot recently added an extra touch of magic to its array of activities: the superhero tour. On this special day, children have the chance to meet their favorite heroes, turning hospitals into places of joy and music.

In February 2024, on International Childhood Cancer Day, this initiative came to life at the Gustave Roussy Institute, where children were welcomed with a festive atmosphere and the presence of their favorite superheroes. This day perfectly illustrates Princesse Margot’s mission: to offer children with cancer moments of escape and happiness, and to remind them that they are the true heroes of their story.

Through its inspiring actions, Princesse Margot continues to bring smiles to the faces of children and their families, demonstrating that even in the darkest moments, the light of hope can still illuminate their path.
